One thing I like a lot about travelling is how much more I read book wise. So far I've got through The Weirdstone of Brisingamen by Alan Garner, Last Chance to see by Douglas Adams, The Atubiography of Patrick Moore and The Blind Watchmaker by Richard Dawkins. While I've been enjoying the travelling alone part you do also get to meet some very nice and interesting people while backpacking/hostelling. Just about every night you're sharing with people and they're usually pleasent enough to tolerate for a night or two.
